Microfunk.ru presents “Applied Minimalism”

Two months ago, microfunk.ru launched a project called “Applied Minimalism” and encouraged all producers to submit tracks with the condition that it was created from only one sample – the kick drum of the classic Roland TR-808 drum machine.

Over 70 tunes were sent in by various artists (including Subwave, Nphonix, Oak, Bop and others) and finally, after accurately mixing all the tracks together, the Microfunk crew are proud to present the final mix of ”Applied Minimalism”.

BBC Asian Network: Friction Lab

Bop was featured on the BBC Asian Network last night as part of the Friction Labs where artists, producers, bands, singers, rappers and MCs are invited to cover, remix or refix a track. It could be an indie band covering a Bhangra track or vice versa.

In his unique and instantly recognisable style, Bop decided to deliver a stunning 130bpm remix of “Good News For You” by M. Ashraf featuring Nahid Akhtar, a Lahore/Lollywood track from an album about pop music from Pakistan.
