Remix competition
Having trawled through hundreds and hundreds of entries, we’re delighted to announce that the winner of the Bop Remix Competition is Thinnen. You can listen to the winning entry on Hospital Podcast #101 or via Soundcloud (see below).
We felt Thinnen hit the nail on the head with his remix and had the edge over the rest. The captivating and original intro had us hooked. The main section of the track is characterised by a deep sliding bassline and a light peppering of amen breaks. Crucially, Thinnen strikes the perfect balance between the new sounds he brings to the track and the elements from Bop’s original. To quote London Elektricity “I’d play this out!”. We might hold you to that Tony.

Thinnen will receive every Med School release to date from S.P.Y (MEDIC1) to Trisector (MEDIC17), including the Bop album on CD and double vinyl. Massive shout to Thinnen for his wicked remix and also to everyone who took the time to enter the competition, the overall standard was very very high. Although there could only be one overall winner, we’d also like to give a shout to Andy Bubbles, Render, OhTebins, Artik+Dexta and Hoax for their entries which also stood out from the crowd. You can listen to these below. Once again thanks to everyone who entered and congratulations to Thinnen.
Please remember that the copyright on all Bop remixes remains the property of Med School Music / Hospital Records and we have not given permission to release or sell them, although we would be happy for you to post them up on forums, MySpace, Soundcloud, etc or use them in DJ mixes.
If you want to get your hands on the original mix of ‘Enjoy The Moment’ then it is available as a digital download from iTunes and all the usual places, it also features on the CD format of Bop’s debut album ‘Clear Your Mind’ (MEDIC15CD).

@Mark What you talking about dude? Some of the ones I heard in the Soundcloud group were simply rearrangements of the original with nothing new, Thinnen’s remix is full of originality!! The Artik and Dexta one isn’t bad either

Dont agree really, but my opinion dont really count i suppose, its the labels choice.
Some of the other remixe’s are carbon copy’s. I thought this was a remix compition
Hmm… I thought i heard a lot better(and more original) mixes than these. Whatevz tho, I really like the ones you guys picked. Big shouts to all who put one up. Good stuff all around.

What time is the deadline? I am in Baltimore, MD (East Coast US) and 11:59pm Friday is Saturday in London. I don’t want to miss this deadline so I would like to know what time and what time zone we are talking about here. Thanks!

I sent my remix using AIM but not sure if its gotten to where it needs to go, i also tried to use the dropbox site thing but its more than useless, after not letting me send anything for about 10 minutes it finally sent it then told me ‘we have messed up your mix’! WTF……..now i dont know if my remix is with the people it needs to be with or not, anyone got any ideas how i can find out cos im not getting any answers from liquid DnB right now either….thanks….
